About
In the mid 2000′s I began writing my memoir, a story of my journey through divorce, through midlife and back into the dating world,
while caring for my chronically ill ex-husband. The writing took a back seat as I began a new job in 2006. At the end of 2009 the book called me back and I left my job as a director of a nonprofit to begin writing in earnest. Along with that career change was the recognition that writing is a passion for me, a career. There is no turning back.
Beyond Words is my place to write about the journey, the things I’ve learned and want to share with other freelance writers. It’s also where you will find my resume and writing clips. Writing is what I do, but the process involves a collaboration between client and writer-a creative process of learning about the client’s needs and how to help him, or her, advance her business.

Good luck with your frelance writing career!
Hi Walker,
I was thinking about the response to the message I wrote a couple of days ago in one of your posts. So, yesterday I uploaded the second video of my blog, it has captions in english and portuguese. So, other bloggers of different countries can understand it, anyway hope you like it.
Have a nice day!
Great idea. I’ll go take a look.
Good to meet a fellow creative writer–best wishes to you!
Thanks Scott, nice to meet you as well. We appear to have some commonality in blog friends! I look forward to reading more of your work.

Hi Walker!
I’m excited to have your participation in the Den.
I get 1,000 emails every 3 weeks. I am constantly hitting unsubscribe…but I need to read widely for client work. But I’m a good scanner!
I use a folder system to stash newsletters away, then I blitz through tons of them at once…scanned through about 40-50 old newsletters last night in perhaps a half-hour.
But I need to get better about checking email fewer times per day. WAY better.
Hi Carol. Thanks for checking my blog…I’m enjoying the Writer’s Den and want to find more time to linger and explore.
Sounds like you totally have me beat in the email category! Like you I’ve started using folders to sort emails of importance.
