Where Does The Time Go?

Life ebbs and flows. I know that’s an overused cliche but it is true.  The last few weeks have been full of familial obligations; shifting responsibilities as I take on caregiving, and support my boyfriend in the death of his mother. My sons have been around and this week a friend is visiting.  I enjoy company and the leisurely chats on the deck overlooking the woods have been delightful as well as nourishing.

Obligations still stand, I have a career to build and a book to write.  The career path is well tended right now, I’ve planted a few seeds and am patiently waiting for signs of growth.  My book is a weedy, untrod path.  The attention I’m giving to my freelance writing; learning about keywords and SEOs, writing short articles on demand, editing..all of these skills will transfer to my memoir writing. As I build a name for myself as a writer, regardless of what I’m writing, the recognition will help when it comes time to promote my memoir.

They’re both journeys, maybe not the same one, but one that joins up, bumps against itself sometimes and strays; ultimately I believe I’ll end up at the right place.  Where that is, or when I’ll get there is uncertain at this point. My challenge is to travel smoothly with as few bumps and dead ends as possible.

It may seem at times a lonely road you’ve set upon – in your quest to gain recognition as a writer, but look behind you. You’ll see many friends following you every step of the way – each wishing you success and all eager to read your memoir when you are ready to show it to the world !!!

You are an inspiration ! And a leader. Thank you for showing the way. You will achieve whatever you set out to do. Another cliche I know but your path ‘feels’ sound and good to me. Be happy.
